Best in County Award and Chef’s Larder Award

Dingle during the Blas na hEireann Awards and Dingle Food Festival

Where do we begin? Dingle- the town where you let go of that sigh you didn't realise you were holding onto before easing into a happy state of bliss. I was carried away on the Blas na hEireann culinary wave. And what a RUSH!!

Everything turned around the axis that was the Blas Village. Displays of all entrants, from all the the finalists in all sorts of food, drinks and ingredients. Whether ready-to-go or ingredients to embellish the basics, all were arranged in beautiful displays around the main space. It was also here that award winners were announced, where the finalists gathered before the announcements.

Rogan’s Smoked Sugar won two awards! Best in County for Co. Westmeath AND Chef’s Larder Award. We know that every chef in the country will want our product in their larder, ready to use and to transform their dishes into something spectacular!

Needless to say we are delighted and so grateful to the staff at Blas na hEireann, the volunteers, the chefs and the people in Dingle who have so obviously worked really hard to bring the best out in all of us attending Blas na hEireann 2022!
